Taipei-based Foxconn, one of technology giant Apple's major subcontractors, is investing 551 million dollars (equivalent to 5.8 billion kronor) in two new projects in the Vietnamese coastal province of Quang Ninh.

Among other things, it involves a production facility for entertainment products and equipment for smart electronic systems in Song Khoai Amata and Bac Tien Phong, respectively.

Foxconn's subsidiary Hon Hai Precision Industry has for some time been assembling the majority of Apple's iPhone mobile phones.
