21-year-old debutant Cimberly from Skellefteå was not tipped in advance by the betting companies or the Melodifestivalklubben, but now it is clear that she has made it all the way to the final in the Strawberry Arena.

Cimberly won "Idol" in 2023, which was the starting point for her career. Now she makes her debut in Melodifestivalen with the entry "Eternity", which she herself has described as "cheeky disco pop".

She cried and laughed with joy after the competition.

"I am very, very happy and proud of myself," she tells TT.

Stomach ache

Smash Into Pieces shook off a stomach bug and won the most votes in Malmö. But frontman Chris Adam had still not fully recovered by the time of the performance, says guitarist Per Bergquist.

He's still a bit groggy. He couldn't eat anything today.

During the week, the rock band has also encountered a number of technical problems, which contributed to a certain nervousness among the band's second guitarist Benjamin Jennebo.

You're a little "shaky" after so many rounds of everything. I asked about ten times beforehand if everything worked.

Smash Into Pieces, who are participating for the third time, have been tipped from the start. The rock group has been clear that their goal is to win and represent Sweden in Eurovision and now they have come one step closer.

Considering illness and technical difficulties, Bergquist believes they have even more to give in the final.

"We will obviously do everything we can," he says.

Declaration of love

Meira Omar had been predicted to finish second, but instead she advanced to the final with the entry "Dooset Daram", which she also did last year.

"I don't read the odds and don't think about things like that. I think music is very difficult to compete in, it's so subjective. I know that my genre is something that many people like, and then there are those who may not like it very much, older people in Sweden, for example," she says, adding that she is still satisfied with her performance:

I feel like I did my best and I'm proud of the number and the performance.

The fourth round of the Melodifestivalen began with presenter Gina Dirawi being carried off stage as a joke after she joked about cutbacks at SVT.
