The crime categories are aggravated sabotage, attempted aggravated sabotage, and aggravated disruption of postal and telecommunications traffic, the Swedish National Criminal Police Office writes in a press release.

Three of the suspects remain subject to travel bans.

The damage to two data communication cables was discovered between Helsinki and Tallinn in the Estonian exclusive economic zone on New Year's Eve.

Suspicions that the freighter Fitburg - which was sailing under the flag of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and had come from St. Petersburg, Russia - was behind the cable damage were raised relatively quickly. It was stopped and ordered into port in Finland.
