Four AIK supporters were acquitted in the district court after putting up a banner directed at the then police chief at a match in the Allsvenskan football league last year, reports SVT News Stockholm.

The banner with the text "Imprison Per Engström - save Swedish football" was directed at the former section chief at the National Operations Department (Noa).

The crime was classified as assault on a public servant. The district court found that the banner did not cause harm, suffering or other inconvenience to Per Engström, according to SVT. The supporters, in turn, were considered to have acted within the framework of freedom of expression.
