Four sentenced to life for machine-gun murder in Gothenburg gang conflict

Four people have been sentenced to life imprisonment after a man was shot dead with a machine gun in front of several witnesses on Hisingen in Gothenburg last year, Göteborgs-Posten reports.

The murder on September 9 in the Tolered district is considered one in a long series of violent crimes linked to the gang conflict in Biskopsgården, Gothenburg. The victim was a man in his 30s. Two boys in their early teens were nearly hit by bullets.

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for firing the shots. Three others are considered to have been involved to such a degree that they, too, have been sentenced to life.

The gang conflict in Biskopsgården led to two double murders within six months in 2025. The murder in Tolered took place a week after the second double murder and was described as “pure revenge,” prosecutor Maria Thorell previously told Göteborgs-Posten.
