At Wednesday's extraordinary meeting in the City of Stockholm, a majority voted against the proposal to make permanent the temporary rules that applied during the World Cup - serving alcohol until 8 a.m.

The proposal to investigate the possibility of alcohol sales around the clock, put forward by the four opposition parties L, M, C and KD, was also rejected, reports Mitti.

It worked during the World Cup. To say no is to choose ideology over facts - and it is the people of Stockholm who lose, says Christofer Fjellner (M), finance mayoral candidate, to Mitti.

Stockholm is governed by S, V and MP, which have their own majority.
