A manhunt for several Palestinians suspected of involvement in the shooting has been launched, the Israeli military said, reports The Times of Israel.
According to the Israeli military, the shooting was triggered when soldiers were sent to an area near Tell after Israeli settlers reported that they had been attacked, the newspaper writes.
It is not known whether settlers or soldiers shot at the Palestinians.
According to the newspaper, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a security meeting with the defence minister and the military's chief of staff after the incident, his office said.
"We will respond forcefully against the terrorists and those who send them," he said in a statement.
