Four out of ten small houses in the country do not have adequate fire protection. The most common deficiency is too few smoke detectors, according to statistics from Anticimex.
The company performs nearly 100,000 damage-preventing inspections of villas, semi-detached houses, and summer houses every year. Among other things, fire protection is checked.
Of all houses inspected between October 2023 and September 2024, 39 percent received a remark. Four percent lacked smoke detectors altogether and 18 percent had too few smoke detectors. Seven percent lacked fire extinguishers and an equally large proportion had a fire extinguisher that was not of the recommended type.
Corrected: An earlier version contained an incorrect figure on how many houses received a remark.
