Four are sentenced to prison for up to two years. The others receive suspended sentences with community service or a fine.
"The majority of the 17 defendants are Norwegian citizens residing in Norway," the district court writes.
The indictment was filed in September last year.
The case concerned trading in shares before a bid for Pagero Group became public knowledge.
"The district court has concluded that two of the defendants, through their employment at a venture capital firm, had access to insider information about the upcoming bid and disseminated it, resulting in extensive insider trading," the district court writes.
