The new voices will be available in the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), allowing game developers and creators to use spoken characters in their own game worlds.
According to Epic Games, the voices are based on Google's AI model Gemini, but on recordings from professional voice actors.
The company says the actors have given their consent for their voices to be used to train the AI models. Epic also says it wants to work with unions and voice actors to make more original voices available in Fortnite.
