In an interview with DN, Forssell says the government's work is to some extent based on previous proposals on family immigration and concerns changing the assessment of young people who previously received notification of a residence permit based on family ties but have since turned 18.
"I want them to be able to finish school and build a future for themselves in Sweden. I have come up with a solution that we are now preparing," the migration minister tells the newspaper.
Teenage deportations, where young people are notified when they turn 18 that they will be deported from Sweden even though their families are allowed to stay, have been criticized from several quarters.
