On the website of the Nordic electricity exchange, Nord Pool, Vattenfall has stated that the shutdown, which was announced late Monday evening, will last until midnight on Christmas Eve.
- We don't really know more than that now. The staff is troubleshooting, says Maja Ahlund, press communicator at Forsmark.
The reactor, one of three at Forsmark, was recently restarted after annual maintenance. It has also been upgraded to produce about ten percent more power than before. However, according to Maja Ahlund, it was not at full capacity when it was shut down.
The other two reactors, Forsmark 2 and 3, have normal production.
