Härnösand-born Anton Forsberg was supposed to stand in goal when Ottawa met Pittsburgh at home during Saturday evening, American time.
But he sustained a "minor injury" during warm-up, according to the team. So Linus Ullmark, who had just been praised for keeping a clean sheet against Carolina the night before, had to step in again.
You just have to roll with it, says Linus Ullmark to reporters afterwards, about what he thought about the quick substitution.
There's not much you can do, you just take it as it is.
Ullmark shone with a nice save barely ten minutes into the first period. It looked like Pittsburgh's Swedish defender Erik Karlsson would score a certain goal when Ullmark managed to stop the puck with his stick. Later, he made another save with his stick in the second period.
The Swede saved 25 shots but failed to keep a clean sheet, and Pittsburgh scored two goals. However, it wasn't enough for the away team, and Ottawa won 3–2.
Pittsburgh's Swedish defender Marcus Pettersson left the ice with an injury to the lower part of his body halfway through the first period. It's unclear how seriously he's injured.
