Platini has initiated civil proceedings against several people, including Infantino. The Frenchman also wants a criminal trial within the French legal system, his lawyer Oliver Baratelli told DPA.
The allegations against Infantino date back to 2015, when Platini believes Infantino smeared Platini to have him excluded from the race to become president of FIFA. At the time, Platini was Infantino's boss at the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
Platini was then excluded from the race for the FIFA presidency on ethical grounds because of his connection to the outgoing, corruption-accused FIFA president Sepp Blatter. Instead, Infantino was chosen as Blatter's successor.
