The news hit like a bomb this spring, just weeks before the World Cup in Switzerland.
Swiss national team coach Patrick Fischer had falsified a Covid certificate ahead of the 2022 Beijing Olympics when he was unvaccinated.
Fischer was fired immediately and was not allowed to lead his country in the home World Cup.
Now the IIHF has suspended Fischer for four years - but only from national team activities, writes the Swiss Blick.
This means he could take a job as a club coach if he wanted to.
The Swiss Ice Hockey Association has investigated Fischer, but has not made the investigation public. It was completed at the end of August.
Fischer, 51, has not yet taken a new coaching job after the revelation.
