Bosse Johansson became an iconic figure in Denmark, where he coached the men's national team from 1996 to 2000.

He led Denmark to the World Cup quarter-finals in 1998.

"I remember him as a happy and positive person. He was part of my greatest memory on the football pitch," Danish winger Martin Jørgensen, who was part of the 1998 World Cup team, told Danish broadcaster TV2.

His coaching career took off at Kalmar FF in the 1970s. He then moved to Öster, where they won the Swedish league title in 1980 and 1981. During his time at Öster, Johansson gave a young Thomas Ravelli a chance in goal.

– He is a coach who has played a big part in my career and my brother Andreas' career. He was a fantastic person. He made people around him feel needed and seen, Ravelli told Aftonbladet.

"There's probably no one who has anything bad to say about Bosse," Ravelli continued.

After his stint in Denmark, he coached IFK Gothenburg and Norway's Molde, among other teams.
