A former school police officer, accused of failing to intervene, distract, or delay the shooter in a mass shooting at the school where he worked, has been acquitted by a jury in the United States.

Two teachers and 19 young children were killed when a young man went on a shooting rampage at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, in 2022.

The shooter was killed by police.

The school district's former police chief has also been charged in connection with his actions during the tragedy, but is being tried separately.
