After a team dinner, Kheira Hamraoui was attacked with an iron pipe by two masked men while she was in a car with Aminata Diallo.
Diallo is now on trial, accused of ordering the attack. Six other people have also been indicted.
Hamraoui, 36, lost a labor court case against Paris Saint-Germain last year. She sought the equivalent of around 40 million kronor in damages, claiming she was forced to leave the club after the assault. She also said she was ostracized in the locker room and did not receive enough support.
Aminata Diallo's defense says the investigation is riddled with errors.
