Katja Nyberg is no longer in the Riksdag following the autumn election and, under parliamentary rules, is entitled to a “parachute” payment of 69,000 kronor a month for two years. She has now also been granted additional transition support to study economics.

Katja Nyberg, who has worked as a police officer, has previously said she plans to start a detective agency.

In mid-2025, Katja Nyberg was stopped in a car and later charged with, among other things, drug offenses and drunk driving. Nyberg, who denies the charges, subsequently left the Sweden Democrats and became what is known as a political wild card.
