Two men died when they were cleaning a tank at the company Omni Polymers in Ängelholm. Now the prosecutor announces that a former production manager at the company receives a conditional sentence and is to pay 19,000 kronor in daily fines, reports P4 Kristianstad.
He is convicted of work environment crime through negligence leading to another's death. Since he has accepted a plea bargain, there will be no trial.
The accident occurred in June 2023. The men were cleaning a tank where the deadly gas hydrogen sulfide had formed. One of the men lacked respiratory protection.
The company has gone bankrupt.
