According to the newspaper Blick, the 71-year-old four-time F1 champion was hit in the head by robbers who forced Alain Prost's son to open a safe.
The prosecution said in a statement that the robbers entered the home while several family members were present and later fled with stolen valuables after one person suffered a minor head injury.
"Despite intensive searches, the perpetrators have not yet been arrested."
Blick writes that Prost was shaken by the incident and has therefore left his home in Nyon.
