A former employee of the Swedish court is suspected of several cases of sexual crimes against children, Aftonbladet reports. The man was removed from service immediately when the court was informed by the police, information manager Margareta Thorgren tells the newspaper.

The investigation began when a parent raised the alarm after discovering that her daughter had been chatting with an unknown person on Snapchat. The clues led to the 50-year-old man, who according to prosecutor Tomas Engman, is said to have posed as a younger man. In total, the police have identified ten girls between the ages of seven and 14 who are said to have been victimized by the man.

During the search, around 100 child pornography images were found, as well as more unidentified victims. The man is charged with several counts of exploiting children for sexual posing, child pornography offenses, and offensive photography. The crimes are said to have occurred between 2020 and 2023.

The court announces that the man will not return to his post.
