A former manager and a service manager at the construction and service company Bravida are sentenced for having invoiced for electrical work that was never performed at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö.

The head of department, who has urged subordinates to overinvoice, is sentenced to prison for one year and four months for incitement to gross fraud against Region Skåne.

The service leader who has carried out part of the overinvoicing is sentenced for gross fraud.

Since he has acted on instructions from a higher manager, Malmö District Court considers that there are mitigating circumstances. The penalty is set to conditional sentence and fines.

The head of department has denied knowledge of the incorrect invoicing. The service leader has admitted involvement, but denied the crime since he "did not realize that it meant damage to Region Skåne".

A service manager is acquitted of preparation for gross fraud because the person he tried to influence does not want to cooperate.

According to the indictment, the criminal activity took place between 2021 and 2023. In total, it is a matter of overinvoicing of Region Skåne of just over two million kronor.

The crimes were discovered after a whistleblower within the company raised the alarm about the overinvoicing.
