Social Democrat Claes Nordmark was convicted in July of sexual assault on a community service worker. He has now been acquitted by the Court of Appeal.
According to the court, the plaintiff's account is credible and detailed, but this also applies to Nordmark's account.
"Because the statements are contradictory regarding the reciprocity of the parties' sexual contact, high demands are placed on the supporting evidence for a prosecution for attempted rape, sexual assault, or sexual harassment and assault to be substantiated," the Court of Appeal writes in its decision.
Nordmark has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
