SMHI has previously warned that there is an extremely high fire risk in the area. To get the fire under control, the emergency services need to work quickly and have called in twelve units with fire trucks and tankers as well as helicopters and planes.
This is one of the areas where we have a high risk of spread, so it is therefore extremely important to get it under control quickly, says Tobias Erdsjö, head of the department for safety and civil preparedness at Mälardalen Rescue Service.
SVT reports on another fire in Västmanland, in Skinnskatteberg. At 1 p.m., an alarm was received that there was a fire on a promontory in the forest covering an area of 100 square metres.
