A man in his 30s is sentenced by Ångermanland District Court to forensic psychiatric care with special release assessment for murder. The murder took place in Kramfors in June 2024.
The now convicted man and the deceased did not know each other, writes Ångermanland District Court in a press release. The court further writes that the man committed the act under the influence of a serious mental disorder and that he still suffers from it.
The man stabbed the murder victim and was arrested after knocking on a neighbor's door with bloody hands and telling them what had happened.
In the investigation, the man has stated that he was controlled by voices that urged him to take someone's life.
