The Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises against non-essential travel to Madagascar due to the security situation in the country. The decision was made on Friday and the advisory applies until further notice.

Clashes as a result of protests against disruptions in electricity and water supply have shaken Madagascar for several days. According to the UN, at least 22 people have been killed and more than 100 injured.
