After five concussions in a short time, football player Gustav Sandberg Magnusson is forced to end his career.
"Within a year, I suffered five concussions, where the last one was a small blow that had major consequences. On the doctor's advice, I have chosen to end my career," says the BP player to the club's website.
Sandberg Magnusson, with his 342 competitive matches in Brommapojkarna's jersey, is the club's most A-team player on the men's side. A record he took over in August 2022 from his own father, Berndt Magnusson.
"I'm feeling well in my head today and that's the most important thing, and that's probably the reason I chose to quit. I'm glad I'm feeling well today," says the 32-year-old, who for most of his career was team captain.
He made his A-team debut in the summer of 2009 and, apart from loans to Gröndals IK and Valsta-Syrianska IF, has been loyal to BP throughout his entire senior career.
