Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1874–1965) could never have imagined that a cap from his collection would be sold to the highest bidder many years later. But that is exactly what happened on Wednesday.
Hair tufts totaling about eight centimeters in varying shades of gray from the legendary politician are going under the hammer.
“This is a real piece of Winston Churchill,” said Paul Fraser, chairman of the British auction house, in a press release.
The hair is expected to sell for up to 15,000 pounds – just over 190,000 Swedish kronor. That price also includes the 10-shilling note that the Prime Minister used to pay for his haircut.
