The film will be directed by Spanish director Lucía Alemany and is expected sometime between the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027, according to the Spanish site.
The feature film will be about a girl who overcomes gender barriers and financial difficulties to achieve her dream of becoming a professional soccer player, despite discrimination and difficulties in women's sports. It is unclear whether Putellas herself will participate in the film.
The midfielder has played for several Spanish clubs but has been with Barcelona since 2012. At the club, she has won nine league titles, nine cup titles, and the Champions League three times.
With the Spanish national team, there has been one World Cup gold medal and two Nations League victories.
Individually, the 31-year-old has won the Ballon d'Or twice and been named the best footballer of the year by FIFA twice.
