Axén is not part of TV4's official Olympic team of experts. But the football profile will appear to contribute his thoughts on the biathlon competitions from Italy, which Expressen first reported.
"I will express my feelings and my passion for this national team and for the sport of biathlon," Axén tells the newspaper.
TV4's main expert commentators for biathlon during the Olympics are Magdalena Forsberg and David Ekholm. But Ludvig Ternstedt, PR and communications manager at TV4, confirms that Axén will be involved.
"It's a little spice, I would say. He'll sit in on "News Morning" and "After Five" and talk."
Alexander Axén is known as a darts enthusiast. His interest in biathlon is less well known.
"He's an even bigger biathlon nerd. He records all of the year's broadcasts and watches them during the summer so he can watch something when it's not in season."
The Swedish biathletes have mixed views on the former football coach. Anna-Karin Heijdenberg follows the Swedish football league and knows Axén well, but adds:
"I don't know if he knows anything about biathlon."
Martin Ponsiluoma is a big question mark.
"I don't even know who he is," says Ponsiluoma.
