Previously foot-injured Arsenal star Martin Ødegaard is not deemed ready for play in Norway's matches against Slovenia and Kazakhstan in the Nations League.
He is therefore leaving the national team squad and traveling home to London, announces the Norwegian Football Association.
"I must listen to my body, complete this rehabilitation process and get my foot back in good condition", says Ødegaard in a statement.
The 25-year-old injured himself in a national team match in September, but was back in play for Arsenal last week. First, Ødegaard made a brief appearance against Inter before playing the entire match against Chelsea.
"After thorough examinations and discussions, we have agreed that Martin will not be match-ready for the matches against Slovenia and Kazakhstan", says national team doctor Ola Sand.
