Marcus Hellsten became interested in theatre at an early age and was involved for many years in theatre education and productions at Helsingegården in Järvsö.
He worked at Orionteatern in Stockholm and Stenegård in Järvsö, but Folkteatern in Gävleborg was his main focus. He was the theatre’s director for twelve years.
"Marcus’ love of theatre and its craft permeated all his work, and his strong commitment to the audience was a great driving force for all of us. He contributed to several of the theatre’s artistic achievements during his time as theatre director. We will miss him," says artistic director Gro Oskarson Kindstrand in a press release.
