Englishman Phil Foden was the architect of City's home victory. First, he beautifully heeled - with his back to goal - a deep ball to Antoine Semenyo, who made it 1-0 in the 22nd minute.
Barely 20 minutes later, Foden assisted Egyptian Omar Marmoush, who made it 2-0. With seven minutes left in regulation time, Savinho responded to make it 3-0.
City now have 77 points - two points behind league leaders Arsenal. The London club face relegation-threatened Burnley at home in the penultimate round on Monday. Manchester City host Tottenham on Tuesday; Tottenham are fighting for a new contract.
