Flyers extend NHL season-opening skid to eight losses after shootout defeat to Kraken

The Philadelphia Flyers' record-breaking start to the NHL season continues. They suffered their eighth straight loss at home, falling to the Seattle Kraken.

A small consolation is that Philadelphia at least earned their third point of the season after coming back from a 0-2 deficit. The visitors then won 3-2 in a shootout.

Philadelphia defenseman Travis Sanheim also saw some bright spots in his performance on the ice.

"It feels like we played more like we need to to win in this league, and it was nice to get rewarded for that in the third. It would have been nice to finish the job in the shootout," he said, according to the NHL's website.

On Thursday, Philadelphia will have another chance to get their first win of the season, on the road against Detroit.
