Around 200 seedlings are missing in Arvika's municipal plantings after flower thieves are suspected to have dug up the seedlings during the spring and summer, reports Arvika Nyheter.

The problem started already during the spring, according to the municipality's park manager Anna Rundin. In some flower beds, entire rows of plants are missing.

It's not the intention that we should cultivate for someone to have at home, it's for us who live in Arvika and visitors and tourists to have it pleasant, she says to the newspaper.

According to the park manager, the approach differs from previous cases of vandalism, where flowers have been pulled up and soil has ended up everywhere.

This is adult people, it's very neatly stolen, says Anna Rundin.
