The man who is pointed out as guilty of a school shooting in the American state of Florida has a Norwegian background, according to American media.
The 20-year-old man has at least one Norwegian parent. He has previously been the subject of a custody dispute that ended with him being placed with the other parent in the USA, report, among others, ABC News.
The perpetrator opened fire at Florida State University in the city of Tallahassee on Thursday. Two people were shot to death and several others were injured. The suspect was shot and injured by police who arrived at the scene, after which he was taken to hospital.
According to investigators, the accused is a close relative of a high-ranking officer at the local police, whose service weapon is also said to have been used in the act.
