Florida are Stanley Cup champions after beating Edmonton 2–1 in the seventh and decisive final match in NHL ice hockey. The three Swedes on the team – Gustav Forsling, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Kevin Stenlund can now celebrate Florida's first championship title to date.

The win came after a nail-biting final series, where Florida, after winning the first three matches, then lost three in a row. But when it mattered, the team delivered.

In front of a packed home arena, Carter Verhaeghe scored 1–0 during the first period. Swede Mattias Janmark soon equalised for Edmonton's account, but in the second period, Florida regained the upper hand after Sam Reinhart sent the puck into the net.

This is the first time Florida have won the Stanley Cup. Twice before, they have played in the final: in 1993, they lost to Colorado, and last year to Vegas.
