Our thoughts go to all those involved, their families and the association in question. The match is cancelled for obvious reasons and now it's about letting the healthcare system do its job, says Ludvig Gustavsson, press and media officer at Svensk Innebandy, to TT.
IBK Lund's men's team plays in the Swedish floorball second league, Allsvenskan, and was supposed to meet Stockholm team Hässelby SK on Saturday afternoon.
But at lunchtime, the team's bus crashed on the motorway in the snow and ice outside Nyköping south of Stockholm. Several passengers were injured, four of them seriously.
The sporting aspect becomes very secondary in a situation like this and we naturally hope for a positive outcome in this difficult situation, says Ludvig Gustavsson.
IBK Lund writes briefly about the incident on its Facebook page.
"In connection with today's trip to Hässelby, the men's team was involved in a nasty accident with the player bus", the club writes.
"We have set up a crisis centre, have linked up with Lund Municipality's crisis management and are also in contact with the Swedish Floorball Federation regarding the matter. We will return with more information at a later stage."
