Flights to and from Sweden's capital region are lagging behind. Compared to other major air hubs in Europe, Stockholm and Arlanda have lost out in the competition, according to a new study.

After the pandemic, several other major air hubs in Europe have increased their flight connections by up to 24 percent. In the Stockholm region, flight routes have become fewer.

"The number of passengers remains lower and the recovery is slow, which negatively affects Sweden's competitiveness," writes state airport owner Swedavia in a press release, pointing to a report from Copenhagen Economics.
