Fleten and Persson winners – Novak disqualified

Emil Persson or Max Novak? The duel in the tempo race in the long-distance cup was won by Persson. It was the 29-year-old's first victory in the cup this season. It was incredibly wonderful. It was two years since I last won, so it was about time, says Persson to SVT.

The margin down to Novak was 13.2 seconds. But the day ended sourly for Novak. After the prize ceremony, he was disqualified for having skated under the course.

I don't think I did anything worse than anyone else did. I was at the prize ceremony and everything... I don't think I did anything wrong, says Novak to SVT.

Emilie Fleten, last year's female winner of Vasaloppet, can look back on a pleasant Ski Classics weekend in Orsa. The Norwegian followed up Saturday's victory over 61 kilometers by also winning today's individual time trial.

The Norwegian won ahead of her compatriot Anikken Gjerde Alnäs.

Then followed a Swedish trio. Jenny Larsson came third, Louise Lindström finished fourth, and Stina Nilsson fifth.

It was almost even worse than yesterday. It was tough. The body feels it and you're a bit stiff. I felt quite slow. It's hard to get that little extra, says Larsson to SVT.
