Five people were killed and 23 injured in Russian attacks in the Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk on Friday. Russia has escalated bomb attacks in the region to gain a foothold there for the first time during the war, according to the authorities.
Earlier in the week, Russian forces attacked the regional capital Dnipro and the city of Samar in the vicinity, and at least 23 people were killed.
Russia has also claimed to have taken two villages near the border of the region.
At the same time, the authorities in the Kharkiv region in the north report that one person has been killed and three injured in Russian attacks.
