Five people are convicted of being involved in plans to murder a man in his 30s in Uppsala, local media reports. The man is said to be a known gang criminal who has previously been the target of a murder attempt.
The plans were revealed when a 16-year-old boy was arrested near the intended murder victim. He had a loaded pistol in his pocket. The boy is convicted of preparation for murder and serious weapons offenses and sentenced to one year and six months in closed youth care.
Another 16-year-old, who allegedly mediated contact with an unknown client, is also convicted of aiding and abetting preparation for murder and serious weapons offenses and sentenced to closed youth care.
Furthermore, a 25-year-old man who allegedly delivered the intended murder weapon is sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for serious weapons offenses. Additionally, his girlfriend is convicted of aiding and abetting serious weapons offenses and sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.
Finally, a 20-year-old man is sentenced to 5.5 years in prison and deportation for mediating contacts and providing advice on how the murder should be carried out.
