According to the indictment, private individuals were tricked into investing a total of SEK 23 million in fake business operations. It is not clear how many people were affected.
"After the first investment company went bankrupt, the main suspects continued to sell investments even though there was no longer any business to invest in," says Jakob Adolfsson, senior prosecutor at the Malmö Economic Crime Authority, in a press release.
“This is serious economic crime that affects ordinary people,” he adds.
