Despite a match penalty and continued problems with the goal scoring: Modo broke the losing trend away against AIK, 2–1 after extra time. Winning scorer: former AIK star Gerry Fitzgerald.

Modo had two straight losses and last season's SHL team was last held to a goal away to Nybro.

In the summit match with AIK away from home, the team lined up chances in the third period, but could not outsmart the hot home goalkeeper Jonas Gunnarsson.

Modo won the total shot statistics 33–14 and in extra time the winning goal came in numerical superiority.

Gerry Fitzgerald, who left AIK after last season, silenced a nearly full Hovet.

"I was completely exhausted and was on my way out to change. A great pass from Linus (Andersson), Fitzgerald tells TV4 Plus."

Thus, the turnaround was complete after a tough start. Modos Alexander Swetlikoff was given a match penalty at the end of the first period after a cross-check in the face of Jesper Emanuelsson. In the subsequent numerical superiority, AIK took the lead through Daniel Ljungman before Emil Larsson was able to equalize.

Series-leading Björklöven were out of sorts at home against Östersund, but a lightning turnaround at the end resulted in a 4–3 victory.

Lucas Nordsäter equalized after 17:10 of the third period and with ten seconds left, Jacob Olofsson decided with numerical superiority.

Björklöven leads the series by nine points to second-place Bik Karlskoga, who won away against Almtuna 4–1.

Third-placed Modo is another two points behind.

Modo meets Björklöven in a heated rivalry match on Friday in Örnsköldsvik.
