Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) and Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) will hold a press conference on Monday to provide information about the upcoming meeting, which will be held in Helsingborg on Thursday and Friday.
"This is the first major NATO summit we have in Sweden," says Ulf Kristersson.
The meeting is seen as an important part of preparations for the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, in July, when heads of state and government will meet.
According to Kristersson, a major issue at that meeting is what is called "burden shifting", which aims to transfer a large part of the military and economic responsibility to Europe and Canada.
Unclear about Rubio
Ulf Kristersson is traveling to Helsingborg to receive Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Rutte will, among other things, have dinner on the coast guard ship Poseidon.
"Then we can show what we use the Coast Guard's capabilities for when it comes to keeping the Russian shadow fleet in check, within the law," says Kristersson.
Maria Malmer Stenergard will also receive Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
She cannot say whether Marco Rubio of the United States, a major NATO country, will come to Helsingborg.
"Each country will be able to account for its presence. But I can say that I have high hopes for good support at the foreign minister level," says Malmer Stenergard.
There may be traffic jams.
There may be some traffic disruptions while the meeting is in progress.
"I would like to thank the patient people of Skåne who may be stuck in the occasional traffic jam these days," says Malmer Stenergard.
Kristersson thinks the cost of 85 million kronor is well worth it.
"I think that's a really good investment. To show what Sweden means to NATO in our part of the world," he says.
"Everyone knows we joined NATO because we sought security and safety. Now everyone should also know what we are contributing, that we are increasing security and safety in Russia's vicinity," he says.
