The conscripts arrived in the Greenlandic capital, Nuuk, in early August, the Danish Defence writes on its website.
Some of the conscripts will be stationed in Nuuk and others in Kangerlussuaq, which is north of the Arctic Circle. The landscape there, with open spaces and rocky slopes, is markedly different from the terrain where conscripts normally train.
The world situation makes it necessary for us to get used to Arctic terrain, says Laura, captain and company commander for the conscripts.
