We consider it safe, says task force leader Helene Sundquist to the newspaper Drammens Tidende.

Earlier on Thursday, the fire service completed extinguishing the fire. The Armed Forces and the police also concluded their operations at the scene later in the day.

On Thursday evening, the municipality began reopening the roads to the area and evacuated residents were allowed to begin returning home.

More than 110 houses have burned to the ground and over 400 people were evacuated when the fire broke out on Friday afternoon.

It is considered the worst residential fire in Norway in more than a hundred years.
