The rescue operation that the firefighter participated in was an accident in a ski slope where a man in his 60s was trapped under a four-wheeler.
When the firefighter was going to help the accident victim, his six-wheeler was about to tip over in the steep slope. He therefore threw himself off the vehicle and fell 3-4 meters down a rocky slope and suffered fractures to both the pelvis and thigh bone, reports P4 Östergötland with reference to the report that the Rescue Service Eastern Götaland has now made to the Work Environment Authority.
The man who was trapped died later of his injuries and the police are investigating the incident as a workplace accident.
