A comprehensive fire is raging in an apartment building in Vara. The alarm came late in the afternoon on Boxing Day.
No one is reported to have been injured in the fire, except for a woman who inhaled smoke, and the building has been evacuated.
We will initiate a preliminary investigation into arson. It is unclear how the fire started, but it is likely to have started on a balcony, says Göran Carlbom, duty officer at the police.
The fire is still not under control, but it is not considered to pose a risk of spreading to surrounding buildings.
Ten fire trucks are on site to combat the fire.
